“Why we love her work”
“We invited Talia Sanhewe to be Guest Speaker at a function for final-year students. This forms part of the faculty’s drive to build relationships with Humanities alumni who in turn, get to share their recipes for success with a younger generation of future ‘movers and shakers’.
Talia is a former UCT Centre for Film and Media Studies student, an accomplished journalist and a professional public speaker. As such, we felt that she would be the ideal candidate to address our young people. We were not disappointed. She was a very dynamic and captivating speaker. Using plenty of anecdotes from her life, she was able to connect with the audience. After her address, she stayed to chat to students and proved so popular that a number of them still remain in contact with her today.
Thank you Talia for inspiring our students and for making our event so memorable!”

“I was happily one of the lucky students who got the opportunity to attend the UNISA (University of South Africa) Women’s Day events and I must say how grateful I am. No words could fully express my gratitude and appreciation for such wisdom shared but my actions and journey towards my destiny will be the living proof.
Just wanted to thank you very much and applaud you. Your presence and words shared in the few hours spent with us have not gone unnoticed. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You have given me hope and reasons to build my legacy and now I AM RUNNING WITH IT!”
